Privacy
What Hindset and this website do with your data today.
Last updated September 22, 2026- Recordings and notes stay on your device.
- No account, no upload, no analytics in the app.
- The early-access list stores only your email and the answers you choose to give.
Local recording library
The desktop library stores filenames, content hashes, metadata, previews and your notes on this device. It does not upload recordings. Verified original paths are remembered locally so playback can find the file again. Local files are not encrypted by Hindset, so your device security still matters.
Key timing
When enabled, key capture is scoped to a recording and stores physical key codes and timing. It does not reconstruct typed text. On Linux it requires membership in the input group, which you grant yourself.
Deletion and exports
Deleting a library entry removes its metadata, notes and preview. It does not erase the original recording, exported clips or reviews, or your own backups. Exports contain filenames and note text, so check them before sharing.
Early-access list
Joining stores your email, a referral code, who referred you (if anyone), the optional answers you give, a one-way hash of your network address (for spam limits) and your country. It’s used only to invite you, rank the list and decide what to build first. It’s never sold or shared. Email mason@maselabs.com to be removed.
This website
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which receives ordinary connection information. It adds no analytics or tracking cookies; your list code is kept in your browser’s local storage so you can see your place again. Hosting, retention and any future remote processing will be documented before a public launch.
